Slow Traffic Keep Right – A traffic sign for your mompreneur mindset
I love Facebook memories. It’s one of my morning pleasures. (I’m not one of those “no social media in the morning” people.) There’s something about seeing where I’ve been and being reminded of just how far I’ve come. Sometimes change is so gradual that it’s imperceptible until you look back.
I woke up and was greeted by this picture a few days ago…
Here’s what I had to say one year ago:
As we drove up the grade out of southern CA, I saw this sign and I realized how applicable it is in life.
Jim Rohn says that you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Who are you surrounding yourself with? Are they pushing you to floor it or are they moving at a slower pace and slowing you down? Are you having to hit the brakes or change lanes to move around them?
You deserve to achieve your dreams. Sometimes, you need to tell the slower traffic in your life to move over to the right, so you can keep speeding forward to your destination. Where are you headed and how quickly do you plan to get there? Who needs to move over so you can keep going at full speed? Or are you the one who needs to move over to let someone pass?
So much has changed in the one year since that road-trip to Las Vegas with my business partners to get some work done. I’ve found people who push me to floor it. I’ve passed some people by, having to go around a few and then watching them fade to nothingness in the rear-view mirror.
It’s about getting clear on what I want and then creating the plan to get there. Not sure how to write goals that you can achieve? Check out one of the books that my partner Greg and I wrote during this past year. (We just went through a re-brand, so I promise that’s really us, lol.) Check out the preview pages and let me know what you think!
